Regent Engineering’s FloorStak® team is back at The Showman’s Show in Newbury today (22 October), following a busy opening day that generated considerable interest in its professional floor support and levelling systems.
Exhibiting alongside CoverMarque – Part of the Clear Group and Custom Covers (1984) Ltd, the Black Country manufacturer has been meeting event organisers, marquee specialists and temporary structure contractors to discuss the practical requirements of flooring installations.
The conversations have reinforced the importance of direct customer engagement, with visitors sharing their experiences of installation, site conditions and the operational demands of delivering temporary structures.
For Stuart Whitehouse, Managing Director of Regent Engineering, the opportunity to meet customers face to face remains an essential part of developing successful manufacturing relationships.
“There’s a great deal of value in getting out into the industry, shaking hands and spending time with the people who actually use these systems,” said Whitehouse.
“We’ve had some excellent conversations over the first day, and there’s been plenty of interest in FloorStak. What I particularly enjoy is hearing how people approach their installations, the challenges they encounter on different sites and what they value most from the equipment they use.
“Those discussions are incredibly useful for us as a manufacturer. You learn a tremendous amount by listening to customers and understanding their day-to-day operations.”
Manufactured at Regent Engineering’s Darlaston facility, FloorStak provides a modular approach to supporting and levelling temporary flooring across marquees, exhibition spaces, hospitality structures and other temporary installations.
The system has been developed around straightforward assembly, robust construction and adaptability, drawing on the company’s extensive experience in metal pressings, welded assemblies and steel fabrication.
As Regent Engineering celebrates 85 years of manufacturing in 2026, the continued development of FloorStak demonstrates how established engineering expertise can be applied to specialist markets.
Whitehouse believes exhibitions such as The Showman’s Show play an important role in connecting manufacturers with the businesses responsible for specifying and installing their products.
“Engineering is ultimately about understanding what the customer needs and producing something that works effectively in practice. We can demonstrate the technical qualities of FloorStak, but the real value comes from discussing how those qualities translate into everyday use.
“Being present at events like this allows us to strengthen relationships, hear new ideas and understand where the market is heading. We’ve had a very encouraging first day, and we’re looking forward to welcoming more visitors today.”
With a second day of discussions underway, Regent Engineering is encouraging visitors to explore the FloorStak system and meet the team at either of its exhibition locations.
Visitors attending The Showman’s Show today (22 October) can find FloorStak at the CoverMarque – Part of the Clear Group tent and alongside Custom Covers (1984) Ltd.
